Formerly a US colony, Philippines
gained its independence in 1946. The official languages
are Filipino and English. Its capital is Manila, with a
population of 84.61 million. The Philippines is relatively
cheap and economical country to visit.. Either foreign currency
or credit cards are accepted in the large cities and towns.
The months of March to May are hot and
dry. The rainy season is from June to October while the
cold season is from November to February. The average temperature
ranges from 25 C/78 F to 32 /90 F, with a humidity level
of around 77%.
